St Peter’s Netball

February 2018

On Friday 2nd February – the Netball Club entered the EPSSA p6 Winter Netball tournament taking place at The Oriam, Heriot Watt University. We only have a small number of p6’s – so 3 of them were supported by some of our up and coming p5 squad.

Despite being a non-competitive tournament, we still like to keep track of the scores, beating; Balgreen 5-0, Corstophine 3-0, Fox Covert 3-0. And drawing with James Gillespie’s 1-1 and Juniper Green, 2-2, with only one loss in the last game to Brunstfield 0-2. Despite never playing together as a team, the girls did tremendously well, putting their heart and soul into every match. A great afternoon was had by all – showing great promise for the future!

Thanks to all the parents who came to support us.

St Peter’s RC Primary School Netball Club (SPPSNC)

St Peter’s Netball Club participated in the recent P6 ‘Round Robin’ netball tournament at Forrester High School – (kindly organised by our own P.E teacher, Mrs Walker!). A squad of 9 p6’s played teams from Cramond, Bruntsfield, Edinburgh Academy, Flora Stevenson, Dean Park and Davidson’s Main primary schools. It was great day and chance to play a variety of positions and put those skills learnt in training into practice.

We also had a local whole club friendly for all p5-p7 players with our lovely neighbours at James Gillespie’s Primary School, where we played 5 games in total (won 3, lost 2).

Many thanks for all the players and club members for their professionalism and enthusiasm when representing the school, and for the parents who came to support.
